Come to Pitzhanger for a special Teachers’ CPD session with artist and educator Emily Hopkins!
This special free Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session for teachers and educators in all key stages responds to our upcoming exhibition, Anthony Caro: The Inspiration of Architecture. Artist and arts educator Emily Hopkins will guide teachers through different activities and tools to use in the classroom, including creating sculpture with your students inspired by Caro’s own artworks. All participants will receive a resource pack developed by Emily for use in your teaching, as well as a guided tour of the brand new exhibition.
This session is open to teachers in any key stage and subject, though with a particular focus on art teachers. Educators working in out-of-school settings are also welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be provided in this session.
Emily Hopkins is an artist and arts educator based in London. As an artist, Emily looks at the natural environment, how environments interact with one another and how we interact with the environment around us. The importance of materials, processes and our interactions with them is also fundamental to her practice. She works with a range of materials and techniques to create work including drawing, print, collage, wood, ceramics and textiles.
