Pitzhanger Late: Open House Twilight Tour

Overview

Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery is opening its doors for free as part of Open House Festival 2023. The festival is led by a community of Londoners who, for the duration of the festival, open up buildings they own, work or care for free so that visitors can explore.

Join us on Thursday 14 September to see Pitzhanger Manor lit up at night and explore the house’s history with our guided Twilight Tour. Hear more about how Soane designed the building to be an expression of his own life and work, telling the story of his architectural, artistic and intellectual influences. Revealing some of the processes of restoration, the tour will look at the re-creation of the decorative elements, such as caryatids, urns and stone roundels, that were derived from classical antiquity.

Pitzhanger Manor will be open for free self-guided visits from 5 pm.

Please note

  • Our guided tours have limited space so advance booking is advised.
  • Book now to make the most of your visit to Pitzhanger.

Open House Festival

Open House Festival is a two-week celebration (Wednesday 6 – Sunday 17 September 2023) of London’s homes, architecture and neighbourhoods. It celebrates our curiosity for what happens inside the buildings that we walk past every day; a festival that works to give all Londoners the chance to learn from the city’s best architecture and the people behind it.
