3 March

Rattles & Hums Interactive Music Performance for Families

Get set for a musical adventure that will have your little ones singing, playing and bopping along to some very catchy tunes. From classic, much-loved nursery rhymes to modern children’s songs with interactive elements, expect tunes about pirates, sleeping bunnies and more.

There will also be puppetry, some ‘flowery magic’ and if time allows, we’ll be using a parachute to make three eager sea creatures fly!

This session is perfect for babies and toddlers aged 8 months to 5 years.

There will be performances at 10.30am and 11.15am.

Drop-in Art Workshop

Artist Aisling Haymes will also lead a paper collage workshop in the Education Room from 10:30am – 12:30pm.

10 March

Block Printing Workshop with Neera Sehgal

Come join Neera for a blockprinting workshop exploring the work of artist Sinta Tuntra and her current exhibition The Lightclub of Batavia. We’ll work with a refined ink palette including gold and silver ink and block combinations to create cards reflecting colour and form. Blockprinting is a social creative activity, suitable for all ages. Join me in this fun session to print, talk & enjoy.

Please note that we use waterbased acrylic inks. Aprons are provided, but please wear clothing you don’t mind getting a little inky.

Drop in from 10:30am – 12:30pm in the Education Room.

24 March

Drawn to nature: What if insects ruled the world? with Sol Golden Sato

“The natural world is not just the space that we inhabit. And for children, it is a space of wonder. A space in which they can think through the very question of what it means to be human.”

Pitzhanger’s park and public garden is a great opportunity for engaging both adults and children. No subject is too small or too broad to be inspired by. Throughout this workshop we will immerse ourselves in the centre of our subject, insects.

In this workshop we will go outside to observe insects. Discuss insects. The idea is to provide an opportunity for children to share and create art from their world to enhance the power of their imagination!

Drop in from 10:30am – 12:30pm in the Education Room.

Transforming Dates into Meaning: Crafting your 2024 Calendar

In this workshop presented by bookliner publishing and education and Kongtinue, you will count up your life in numbers, such as how many days you have been in the world, how much time you have spent in bed, and how many heart beats you have experienced so far. Using this information, you will create your own 2024 calendar, giving meaning to each number.

Drop in from 10:30am – 12:30pm in the Education Room.
