Magic Box provides fun, interactive storytelling sessions where kids help tell the story using the odd things found in the Box.
Children guess what theme the story will be based on. Lottie from Magic Box will play a character leading the children into this themed adventure where they can role-play, move around the imaginary space – and sing songs!
There will be two performances of this storytelling session, the first at 10.30 am and the second at 11.30 am. As the performance is interactive, the duration is fluid and may run between 45-60 minutes.
Art Workshop
There will also be a drop-in art workshop with Tamira Kitchens, an artist and architecture student in London. Tamira is interested in the intersection between technology, art, and people, believing that we can use design to help improve people’s lives, whether that is on an individual scale – by using creativity to relieve stress, form ideas, and as a social activity – or on a much larger scale, by designing cities and artwork which benefit members of a society in the long term.
Drop in from 10:30am – 12:30pm in the Education Room.
You will be block printing your own art work, whilst layering of blocks and exploring emotions through inks, using warm and cool colours.
We use water based acrylic inks. Although aprons are provided, please wear something you wouldn’t mind getting a bit inky.
Neera is a multidisciplinary artist based in Ealing. She focuses on printmaking including screenprinting, linocut and block printing and uses neon inks to create bright, uplifting prints. Neera grew up surrounded by beautiful, eclectic printed textiles from India and her recent work explores the art of Indian block printing.

Talking Shapes, inspired by our upcoming exhibition, Chinwag by Alice Irwin
Creating an image of talking shapes with colourful collage an mark-making, imagine these shapes are having a chat and create a visual language.
Ruth Pickard is an artist, specialising in drawing. I work in response to feelings, thoughts and things I sees around me, I also use art as a means to play. I often work quickly and intuitively, I am never quite sure what is going to happen, where I am going to go, I let the art making take me on a journey. I run art workshops with children and adults, with the aim of enabling others to explore and experiment.
Drop in from 10:30am – 12:30pm in the Education Room.
What colours have you seen in the winter sky? Learn the technique of smooth watercolour painting with artist Cai Jia Eng, showcasing the vivid and beautiful tones in the chilly dawns and dusks.
