Open Sunday: Windrush 75
Overview
HMT Empire Windrush arrived in Britain on 22 June 1948 with more than 800 passengers from the Caribbean. To mark the 75th anniversary of the day, Pitzhanger is hosting a family celebration of Caribbean culture in Britain with storytelling by Jordan Campbell and an art drop-in workshop with Tyan Jones.

Jordan is a storyteller who focuses on stories from the Caribbean and Africa but has also fallen in love with many stories from around the world. His stories have taken him to festivals, charities and schools across the UK and as far as Jamaica!
Tyan is an actress, writer, vocalist and teacher. She owns her own children’s entertainment company, Dramagical Entertainment Ltd, providing baby and toddler classes, workshops for educational establishments and community groups and birthday parties.

- This is a drop-in event with access to Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm. The art workshop and storytelling begin at 10.30 am, with two repeat storytelling performances at 10:30 am and 11:30 am.
- There is no advance booking for this event.
