Children lead sensorial and creative activities in a relaxed, free-flow play space at the Rickyard for under 5s.
About this event
Inspired by a combination of Montessori philosophy, the architecture and exhibitions hosted by Pitzhanger Manor and gallery. Designed to give children and parents an opportunity to explore and have fun together!
Each session will be centred on a specific theme. It is an invite for the whole family to visit the Manor, the Gallery, and the surrounding grounds.
Your ticket will include a free visit before or after the session. There will be 2 sessions each months 1 in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Little Builders sessions can be messy and it is advisable to wear suitable clothing. Please bring a spare change of clothes. Although much care is taken to plan safe and suitable activities for your children to engage and explore independently, please remember that, children must be supervised by their accompanying adults at all times and must be never left on their own.
This session’s theme: trees and leaves
Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery is surrounded by the picturesque Walpole park. In this session, to celebrate autumn, we are going to explore, feel and make use of leaves, sticks and other natural objects, found in the ground. After the session, make your way over to the Manor and observe the trees around you. Can you spot any differences since you last walked to the park? How many different trees and leaves can you find? Look at the colours and shapes of the leaves. Can you recognise and name them?
