Join us at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery on March 4th to kick start the month-long Hong Kong March celebration, a series of nationwide events that celebrate Hong Kong culture and foster understanding between new immigrants from Hong Kong and local communities.
From 10 am to 4.30 pm, you can explore craft market stalls at the Pitzhanger forecourt showcasing craftsmanship from Hong Kong, such as cheongsam, graphic designs, and ceramics. Enjoy family-friendly activities, Hong Kong-style milk tea, and street food.
In addition to the craft market, you can attend a live conversation with Fiona Hawthorne, who will be sharing her two recently published books about her unique time spent drawing and painting inside the now-demolished Kowloon Walled City. You can also visit the Lumli Lumlong exhibition, featuring expressionist oil paintings that comment on social and political affairs in Hong Kong.
At 11:30 am, there will be an opening reception where you can meet and connect with others in the community.
Whether you’re interested in art, history, or cuisine, the Hong Kong March celebration at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery has something for everyone. All are welcome to attend and learn more about Hong Kong culture and its diverse traditions.
