Family Workshop: Architectural Block Printing

Kick off the Summer Holiday by making some amazing art! This drop-in block printing workshop for families is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Overview

Taking inspiration from the Manor and the current exhibition Anthony Caro: The Inspiration of Architecture, we’ll explore creating our own architectural structures using block printing. You’ll have the opportunity to make your own block as well as using pre-made blocks by Emily and other participants.

About the Artist

Emily is an artist and arts educator working in London. She has delivered workshops in a number of different educational settings for the National Gallery, October Gallery, Lauderdale House, Dulwich Picture Gallery, Bow Arts Trust, Grand Junction and more. Her aim is to plan and deliver workshops with fresh perspectives on arts education by working across a number of disciplines, proposing thoughtful questions and starting points and allowing students to play, experiment and reflect meaningfully on their work.

As an artist, Emily looks at the natural environment, how environments interact with one another and how we interact with the environment around us. The importance of materials, processes and our interactions with them is also fundamental to her practice. She works with a range of materials and techniques to create work including drawing, print, collage, wood, ceramics and textiles.
