Join author, broadcaster and Director of the Soane Museum Will Gompertz for an entertaining journey into the minds of great artists from Kahlo to Constable that shows how to look at and experience the world with their heightened powers of perception.
Will Gompertz is a journalist, author and art critic. He worked as the BBC’s arts editor, before moving to the Barbican as Artistic Director. He is currently Director of the Soane Museum.
Clare Gough is Director of Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, architect Sir John Soane’s ‘country’ house in Ealing, West London and its adjacent contemporary gallery. Clare led Pitzhanger through a major conservation project to restore the house to Soane’s innovative design and upgrade the gallery so it now stages exhibitions with artists ranging from Anish Kapoor to Es Devlin and Rana Begum.
The aim of Ealing Book Festival is to celebrate the joy of reading and to advance engagement and education around literature and reading. Through our events we hope to bring people and communities together; inspire and develop writers of all ages; showcase well-known authors and promote local writers, and grow book-loving audiences. The Festival team is Catherine Jaquiss, Jeff Brown, Alex Gerlis, Anne Elletson, Tanya Burgess, Nadine Thompson, Jeff Highfield, Ian Burge, Emma Walker and Natalie Arestis.
