How to Get Published with Amelia Fairney and Anne Marie Ryan

Two leading figures in publishing, one also a successful author of children’s and adult’s books, help demystify the publishing process, offering valuable tips on how to present and pitch your work, through to finding an agent and a publisher and how to engage with the marketing and publicity of your book.

Amelia Fairney is currently Communications Director at Penguin General Books and has worked in publishing in a variety of sales, marketing and publicity roles since 1990.

Anne Marie Ryan is an editorial director at Hachette Children’s Books and has written several children’s books, under a variety of pen names including Bella Swift and Rosie Banks. Her first adult novel ‘Christmas by the Book’ was published in 2021, and a follow-up, ‘Christmas at the Movies’ is publishing in 2025.
