This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to join a passionate and committed team to build on the success of re-opening and further develop our visitor experience offer. Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Operations for Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery Trust (PMGT), the Visitor Experience Manager is a key post responsible for delivering Pitzhanger Manor’s visitor experience across the historic manor and contemporary art gallery whilst driving commercial revenue and efficient operations.
Pitzhanger Manor is the Grade 1 listed ‘country’ home of renowned British architect, Sir John Soane, designed and built by Soane 1800-1804 in what was then rural Ealing, West London. Pitzhanger reopened to the public in 2019 following an award-winning £12m HLF and ACE-supported conservation project to restore Soane’s original design and upgrade the adjacent Gallery so it now stages ambitious and acclaimed contemporary exhibitions ranging from Anish Kapoor and Es Devlin to Grayson Perry. With an exciting and diverse programme of exhibitions, events and outreach, the team are setting ambitious targets to extend and develop Pitzhanger’s audience.
Are you a creative thinker? Are you solutions driven? Passionate about arts and heritage? The post holder will manage a visitor services team who consistently deliver the highest standards of services and commerciality. This team includes a Deputy Visitor Experience Manager, Visitor Assistants and volunteers whose motivation and development is crucial to the Trust’s success.
Leading by example you will embody the can-do team culture within our Visitor Experience team that delivers effective operations. Achieving KPI targets and developing procedures will be key to this role along with building relationships across the teams. The visitor welcome, gallery invigilation and retail sales team are interchangeable, with the Visitor Assistants and volunteers working across all areas of the visitor journey.

Full time, 35 hours per week, including weekend work
Salary
£30 – £32k depending on experience
